Gardiner Pots His First Major
Sounding like a broken record this season but we had another honourable loss and were good for 3 quarters, this time to last years premiers Bidyadanga.
We still had some key outs including skipper Sean Gregory but at least we had a full squad this week (and thankfully again I didn’t have to suit up).
We started very competitively in the first term. Scores were tied up at 3.2 a piece. Good to see Chaz Gardiner score his first major for Towns.
Again it was a tight 2nd term. We traded goals until Bidgy edged ahead late to lead by 10 points at ½ time.
The third term we were hanging tough mnaged 2 goals to 3 to trail by 17 at ¾ time.
Coach Robbie Wilson pushed the guys for one last 20 minute effort but sadly we had run out of legs. As a lot of you know when Bidgy get on a roll they are hard to stop. They booted 7 final term goals to run out 61 pt winners.
Beau Leach and Lyle Carter were great on the wings. Shae Butler and Scott Wilson ran all day on the ball and got plenty of it. Vice captain Sam Belfrage had his best game of the season at full back whilst Alroy Gilligan booted 4 up forward & Damo Crispin presented all day.
