Towns Hurt In Bombing Raid
Well another week and unfortunately another loss.
We took on last years runners up Penninsula Bombers who we defeated back in round 2. They were at full strength and fresh off a strong win last week.
Unfortunately we were undermanned with guys away, injuries and players with the flu (legit excuse because I had it and it knocked me for six and it had Lea bedridden for 2 weeks).
So we had to call in the big guns to play – myself and Charlie Dick.
Actually I was hoping not to be used at all but I was only 1 of 3 on the bench and after young Josh Linton got stretchered off after a decent (but fair) hip and shoulder we were down to 2 on the bench so Charlie went and grabbed his boots too.
So needless to say we were always going to be up against it.
Bombers dominated from start to finish and ran out easy 113 point winners.
Chaz Gardiner played well again off half back. Clint Bell tried hard all day as did his brother Ash Spowart.
We have a bye this week so a chance to recover.
