Kingy Award # 7 - Darren Curyer

THE #7 JUMPER- The jumper is in honour of former Towns player Andrew King.

Kingy played as a half back flanker in the early 1990's. A fearless, hard running player who was able to read the play ahead and time his intercept runs superbly. His overall skills were above average, he was evasive in the tackle and read the ball well in the air, to take a difficult contested mark.

Kingy was a devoted clubman. He worked tirelessly on the commitee, whilst also holding down a job as a busy draughtsman during the building boom of the early 90's. Unfortunately Kingy was tragically lost far too soon during a most unfortunate vehicle accident, whilst enjoying his love of exploring the Kimberley.

Kingy's devotion to his club and fellow Townies is recognised each year by the awarding of the #7 jumper in his honour to the player recognised as bearing those same traits.
